Mandalas for meditation
Art is well known for it’s therapeutic benefits. Art for meditation has been growing in popularity over the past few years. Studies have shown that the simple act of colouring a picture can be beneficial for relieving stress and anxiety. Great for times of high stress levels, like during pregnancy and labour.
Mandalas are sacred circles that have long been used to aid meditation through out history and are now entering medicine as a healing tool. As clinical trials have suggested, meditation can boost the immune system, lower blood pressure, reduce stress and even reduce pain.
Colouring can be done almost anywhere. It could help quiet the mind while sat in the doctors waiting room, or to help with relaxation during labour. Or maybe colouring could be something fun to do while you simply wait for the arrival of your baby.
